Sea Garden 2008 I was invited to design & make a sculptural bench and interpretation panel frame for the newly created Ramsgate Sea Garden, on the site of the old boating lakel on Ramsgate seafront. The bench is made from green Oak, with carvings of native flora Tree Mallow and Sea-purslane, hardy native flora which can be found growing wild around this part of the Kent coast. The Sea Garden features these two plants along with a variety of other indigenous flora. The main artistic feature is the large spiral work made from flint and sand by local artist Ruth Cutler. The garden was officially opened on 30th May 2008. The project was co-ordinated by Tony Child of the Thanet Coast Project and funded by Southern Water.
