Free Range

In 2012 Sam Bailey organised and curated the very first Free Range event in the upstairs cafe at no.?.........in Jewry Lane Canterbury.
Since those early days Free Range has established itself as one of the key venues in the south east for performing and experiencing first hand experimental music, poetry and film as well as other less defineable offerings. Since 2012 there has been at least one season of events each year, along with satellite projects and events. To find out more go to the Free Range website. Since 2020? Kat Peddie initiated the Free Range Open Mic evening as an offshoot of the main project. This can be found here.

One of the offshoots is the Free Range Orchestra, comprising a range of improvisers and performers connected with Free Range. There have been performances in a number of venues/events including Turner Contemporary, The Colyer Ferguson Hall, The Wintersound Festival.

I have been involved with the orchestra since its birth in 20??. Much of the music has been recorded and  two CD's have been produced.
I have performed regularly at Free Range from the outset with a variety of set ups and musicians. See below.

There have been many spin off projects not directly related to Free Range, but involving musicians and performers that I have made contact with through Free Range. See below
